« Reading the Rails »
New York City-born Matthew Mills Stevenson grew up on Long Island ; he moved to Geneva in 1991 and worked in banking until 2004. He was a panelist on World Radio Switzerland’s « Not So Foreign Affairs », a weekly broadcast ; his articles and essays have appeared in numerous publications in the U.S. and Europe.
His new book, Reading the Rails, is a work of travel, history and politics, the title of which comes from a hobo expression meaning that the track can tell about the train and its destination for one who knows how to « read » it…
